This rural accommodation in what once was a Gothic bakery from the 13th century and which has been declared a Locally Significant site, is very near to the beach in the Plana Alta area. The house has been completely refurbished whilst maintaining and respecting the charm of the original Gothic building. This historic building in the old quarter of Cabanes is next to the Sitjar gate, which formed part of the medieval wall that surrounded the village.

Forn del Sitjar is located in Cabanes, whose historic center is characterized by winding streets that have remains of the walled enclosure in the Sitjar neighborhood, with ovens and houses that retain old elements of the medieval past, such as the Abbey House or the Senorial Palace Of the Bishops of Tortosa. The Roman Arch of the second century AD is the main reference of the heritage of Cabanes, in addition to the Town Hall, from the XV century, in front of it stands the parochial church of San Juan Bautista, eighteenth century.

Cabanes belongs to the region of La Plana Alta which has one of the most beautiful places in the area, El Dessert de les Palmes, a special place where to enjoy the historical, natural and scenic riches that invite you to contemplate, walk and enjoy the values that this natural space hides.
